Hague at Dukinfield Chapel, Cheshire, England - 2018 visit

I've been doing a lot of genealogy work, but also went to the UK in 2018 to work on the Hagues in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England, and to Wales to visit some ancestral sites of my Rees family.

With the help of cousin John McKie, we went through the graveyard at Dukinfield Chapel in 2018 looking for all the Hague graves, or possibly related.  In the back area the weeds were high and for a time there was misty rain, but we persevered.   This chapel has been around a long time, and my goal is to figure out how all the Hagues buried there, might be connected.

I found a book that listed the clerks and sextons of the chapel and found that a Samuel Hague was clerk and sexton from 1784 to 1812 and was the first to keep a regular account of the funerals, with particulars as to the place of each grave.  Nathaniel Gee was a clerk before him and I'm curious to see the relationship between the Gees and the Hagues.

Below is just a sample of the gravestones we found, and a few of the burial entries.  Ancestry.com lists 17 Hagues buried from 1844 to 1939"Manchester, England, Non-Conformists Deaths and Burials, Dukinfield Old Chapel Graveyard.

By the way, I found that David Boudreau has done extensive research here and has a family tree on Ancestry.com
